Abstract:
UCAI ‘26 will address topics at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI) and artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen human-centered design in AI-based applications. A major goal is to explore and discuss how to empower users by making intelligent systems more transparent, interpretable, and controllable. A central question will be the integration of AI functions into domain-specific applications, e.g., how to integrate AI with existing practices and workflows. Beyond interaction, counteracting potential biases in data and algorithms is another important goal to address trustworthiness, fairness, and regulatory requirements. Finally, there are methodological gaps in evaluating AI-based systems with respect to technical metrics, as well as UX, acceptability, business impact, and ethical considerations. The workshop invites contributions from researchers and practitioners in a range of formats, including research studies, case studies, experience reports, and opinion articles.
